Fundraising Efforts

Phone-a-Thon

The Phone-a-Thon is our largest fund raising event and community involvement is what makes it possible for us to give a reasonable award to so many students as shown in the table below.

For four evenings in late February early March we hold an annual Phone-a-Thon.

Over 70 students volunteer to come in to the school between the hours of 6:00 p.m. and 9:00 p.m.. The students place hundreds of phone calls to residents of the Susquehanna Valley school district asking them to donate to this year’s scholarship awards. Follow-up letters are mailed and reminder notices are sent all in an effort to collect all the funds pledged.

The funds raised during the Phone-a-Thon are awarded the following spring during the Annual Awards Ceremony held at the high school.

This donation will help provide financial support for our Susquehanna Valley students who choose to further their education at a college, university or trade school. Thanks to the generosity of our community, we are able to provide thousands of dollars of support to our students in this important endeavor.

Susquehanna Valley Has Talent (Or Not)

Each November, a talent (or not) show is held at the Susquehanna Valley High School Auditorium to benefit the Scholarship Foundation.

Students and adults are invited to: Sing, Dance, Act, perform a Comedy routine, perform Musical Numbers, read Poetry, or perform feats of astonishing Magic in front of a sell-out croud.
